Red Dirt Farm and Studio

Living a creative life artist farmer dreamer

These spring days are glorious, although a bit of a roller coaster with up and down temps.  Oh and the wind.  Gosh does it really need to blow this hard?

So, how was your weekend?

I did something this weekend, that I haven’t done in a few years.

 Boy did it feel good.

Now before you guys go thinking something you shouldn’t, this is a clean post.

I pulled out my macro lens and strolled through the yard, laid on my belly and sat on my butt all for the pure joy of taking photos.

Since my neck and shoulder injury and surgery, I haven’t had the strength to use my macro lens.

It was a was a bit of a challenge but I enjoyed it.

This amazing mossy stuff grows in a pot on the pond.  If you look closely, you can see the water faeries that live deep in the shadows.

Mostly the wind was blowing too hard to take photos of flowers.

So I sat on my butt by the pond to soak up the sun.  Coconut, Papya and Mango join me.  They carry faeries on their wings.

I’ve been taking their photos since the moment they popped out of the egg, so they are used to me having the camera in their business.

But I often get this.

Blurr.

And this.

Because they can’t sit still, and they are very inquisitive and need to get in my business.

Yes, it makes me laugh.

Mostly, I’m mesmerized by the colors.

Flower and feather are mini bouquets that I have for sale at the cottage roadside stand.

Speaking of the stand, we opened this weekend with rain and strong wind that gave way to beautiful sunshine.

We met new customers and felt very blessed.

This post had me smilin’ and just loving those bouquets!!! What a great idea! I’m happy you feel good enough to go out and sit on your bottom and take pictures. You know life is good when you want to do that!!! We have had lots of wind and SNOW and cold up here. You know, my son and his wife live in your state. So perhaps a visit to your garden stand will actually happen some day! I hope I can pet the peacocks and see the fish. Someday! 🙂
