Home Away from Home

In an average Southwest Florida neighborhood, our home away is the complete opposite of our farm in Virginia.  We don’t get to visit very often but when we do, we spend our time working hard in the gardens and yard followed by lazy time in the pool.  Visits to Corkscrew Swamp or The Edison Ford Museum are a few of the musts. Collecting sand dollars on a Sanibel beach or seashells in Captiva is always a good time.

Our tripod cat, TC, makes the trip with us and helps us not feel so homesick for the other furry babies.

My Dad vacations with us too.  He especially likes that our home is on a golf course and that he can play a round of golf any time.

Someday, we may retire here, in the meantime, it is a place for us to take a break from our busy lives.  Occasionally I write about our visits and share photos from our other “happy place.”
