Chicken Yoga

On a not typical day, by 8:30 A.M.

I baked a loaf of bread and started a second one.

I baked a batch of cookie bars.

  I put beans and a ham bone in the crock pot for dinner.

I opened up the farm stand and set up the displays and filled the cooler with eggs.

  I met two customers and did a farm tour with them.

  I fed the dogs and the cats.

I let the chickens out to free range.

And.

I spent a half hour rescuing a rooster that had hanged himself. Continue reading

I swallowed a ladybug the other morning.

I guess they aren’t poisonous because I’m still alive.

Isn’t it wonderful to have a new year and a fresh new start?

What’s next for you?

Years ago I came across a blog that I found so inspirational.  The content was fun and the photography was beautiful.  The photos were always so bright.  I studied the photos and the blogger shared her camera tips and I soaked it up like a sponge, and then almost the next day, she stopped blogging.

Don’t you just hate that, it is like when you have a TV show you really like and it is canceled?  Crap. Continue reading

a new season

I hope that Y’all came through the holiday season with blessings and all good things.

I in my elf slippers and Mr. Cottage in his flannel, we snuggled in on Christmas eve for a day of just doing for us.

Mr. Cottage and I have had a long tradition of cooking a special Christmas Eve dinner – something a little fancy.  Since the passing of Mother Cottage, we have invited Father Cottage to join us for Christmas Eve supper.  I’ve made various steak dinners these past few years.   This year, Father Cottage announced that he had other plans for Christmas Eve, so we talked about what we would do, for just the two of us.
