A Joyful Creative Life

It happened in the butler’s pantry.  A hall-way space, and once upon a time when our house was first built, it was the kitchen. Now a brown cow supervises my every move. On a snowy day, I faced down that cow and got to making.

  I feel like one of the cats curled in the beams streaming through the window, seeking warmth.  Beyond the glass, across the lawn heavy frost sparkles. The thermometer read minus 5 this morning before sunrise.  Pipes are frozen at the kitchen sink, as is the faucet outdoors we use to water the animals.  This …
